Interns needed at FLing@JNU
We are looking for interns to join us in the following sections. If you are a current or ex- student of the Centre for Linguistics you are eligible to intern with FLing@JNU. Email us at fmlabjnu@gmail.com if you are interested. The internship is of three months duration, starting on March 25, 2019.
JNU Langscape data analysis section
Positions vacant: 8
Preferred skills:
-good data analytical skills
-MS Excel proficiency or proficiency in any data analysis tool
JNU Langscape video curating section
Positions vacant: 2
Preferred skills:
-proficiency in using video editing software
Legacy grammars project
Positions vacant: 3
Preferred skills:
-ability to analyse linguistic data and make generalisations relevant to writing a grammar
-ability to transcribe linguistic data in the IPA
-ability to gloss linguistic data fairly well
Students selected to join this section will be trained to use FLex. For the first two months, candidates will work on entering the linguistic data into FLex and tagging the corpus as per our guidelines. Based on their performance, they will be selected to work on the Legacy Grammars project.
In order to apply to one (or more) of the above three, please write in, giving us your short CV and your grades in the courses you have taken in the areas of phonetics, phonology, morphology, and syntax.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of funding we will not be able to offer any remuneration to interns. However, since with the exception of dissertations/theses, individually authored field reports, and published material, all FLing materials are under a Creative Commons license, your authorship of all material will be acknowledged on the website. Selected interns will be given an internship certificate.
